It is with great sadness that we received the news of the death of former Capital-Virginia District Governor Gail Headley.
Glenda “Gail” Headley of Mechanicsville, VA passed away Friday June 28th 2019. She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Lawson K. Headley, Sr., two daughters, Debbie (Randy) Ramsey, Tammy (Doug) Bradley, and one son Chad (Angie) Dunnavant, stepchildren, Beth (Danny)Worrell, Carla (Spencer) Dillard and Kin (Courtney) Headley. Siblings include sisters Vanessa Spencer, Linda Bradley, and Brothers Brad Blades and Wayne Foreman. Gail was so proud of her seventeen (17) grandchildren and her (7) great grandchildren.
She spent most of her career working for O’Toole’s Restaurant and her husband’s business, Business Data of Va. Inc.
She attended Fairmont Christian Church. She loved the Lord and was very active in the community attending many Bible Studies and working with families and children in any capacity where she could help.
Gail was a member of the Hanover Optimist Club where she had served as President, the region as Lt. Governor and as Governor of the Capital Virginia District (Virginia) of Optimist International. She also has served on the Optimist International Committee for Junior Golf and had been extremely active with the state and National/International Golf Tournaments.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at 1:30pm – 3pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Road in Mechanicsville, Va. 23111. Services will be at 3pm followed by a reception.
