I must confess that it was easier to accomplish everything while I was working, and constant interruptions will my life. Luckily, everyone was given the date of the third quarterly meeting and Donna Aker sent everyone the address (Embrey Mill HOA, Knight Meeting House, 401 Coneflower Lane, Stafford, VA 22554). This should be a great meeting, the TOP THREE contestants for our Oratorical Contest have been invited to present their speeches in person and the WINNER will be announced! In addition, the winner of the Essay Contest has been invited to present her Essay. Please email Tracey if you are attending so food can be order and you can pay at the door. I left the registration in Word so you in fill it in and email it to Tracey and Monica.
The meeting is also when the Zones elect their Lt. Governor for the 2021-2022 year.
And speaking of Electing, it is time to elect the 2021-2022 year Club Officer and report the results to OI.
Also, I have been reviewing the District Giving to Optimist International Foundation and CapVA is way down this YEAR and OI Foundation has a special pin for this year’s Dime a Day participants, if you up the $36.50 to $50; a special 50 year pin!
Please, let’s turn out and support the Youth who took part in two of our MAJOR contests this year.

Congratulations to Ella Rose Scher, National Capital Optimist Club, for her winning essay in this year’s Capital-Virginia District Essay Contest. The topic was “Reaching Your Dreams by Choosing Optimism.” Ella’s essay has been submitted to the Optimist International Essay Coordinator for participation in the next level of competition.
Ella, along with eight other entrants, did a great job exploring the topic and developing their essays. Their participation alone makes them all winners.
Thank you to the clubs that participated in the support of the Youth in the Capital-Virginia District.
As always… Thank God for Kids
